Your phone will not receive an audio signal with a standard minijack cable, also known as TRS. It requires a TRRS plug to work, which you get by connecting the Record AC-TRRS-TRS to your microphone's minijack cable. The Record AC-TRRS-TRS is a TRS-to-TRRS adapter designed to connect a microphone with a 3.5 mm minijack output to smartphone devices with a 3.5 mm TRRS input. The Record AC-TRRS-TRS can also be used with stereo microphones, combining the left and right channels into a mono signal to make it compatible with a TRRS input.
